Zamalek’s technical director Moataz Gamal has submitted a report outlining a number of expected departures ahead of the summer transfer window, as the Egyptian club reshape their squad following last season’s league title triumph.
According to the report, several players are being moved on due to what the club describes as a lack of “technical need” for them in the upcoming campaign. The recommendations form part of a wider squad review as Zamalek prepare for the new season.
Among those set to leave is Ousheng, with the club’s football leadership reportedly moving to terminate the player’s contract. The decision, which has been put forward to the board chaired by Hussein Labib, is understood to be based on the coaching and technical assessment that the player no longer fits into the team’s plans.
The report also highlights a group of senior and fringe players earmarked for departure, including Mahmoud Jihad, Ahmed Hossam, and Saif Farouk Gaafar. Their exits have been requested on the basis that they are not currently considered ready or suitable for the club’s sporting requirements going forward.
However, final decisions on further departures are expected to depend on the resolution of Zamalek’s ongoing registration suspension issue. Club officials are said to be working to resolve the matter in order to secure an African licence, which would allow them to participate in the next edition of the CAF Champions League.
Until the situation is clarified, additional squad changes remain under review, with the club delaying some personnel decisions while awaiting regulatory clarity.
The restructuring comes after a successful domestic campaign in which Zamalek secured the league title. Despite that success, the technical department is keen to refresh the squad and maintain competitiveness across both domestic and continental competitions.
Alongside the planned departures, the club’s football management has also confirmed plans for a 10-day internal training camp. The camp will be used to prepare the squad for the new season and to help integrate remaining and incoming players into the team structure.
Zamalek are aiming to build a squad capable of challenging for multiple honours in the coming season, with the technical leadership emphasising the need for a balanced and fully prepared group ahead of a demanding schedule.
For now, however, attention remains focused on the outgoing players and the administrative hurdles that could shape the final composition of the squad before the new campaign begins.
