Colombian singer and songwriter, Shakira has teased the release of the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, titled Dai Dai, which will feature Nigerian superstar Burna Boy.
In a post shared from the iconic Maracanã Stadium, Shakira announced that the song is set for release on 14 May.
“From Maracaná Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready!” the post on X read.
The announcement has quickly generated excitement among football and music fans worldwide, especially with Burna Boy involved in what is expected to become one of the defining anthems of the tournament.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, will be the largest edition in the competition’s history.
A total of 48 teams will take part, an increase from the previous 32, with 104 matches to be played across 16 host cities.
The expanded format will feature 12 groups of four teams, with the top two sides from each group progressing to the knockout stage, along with the eight best third-placed teams.
