Morocco will host the 2027 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in April and May, while Ghana has been selected to stage the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in February and March.
Egypt will host the 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, which will also serve as Africa’s qualifying tournament for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
CAF is also considering the introduction of a new Africa U-17 Cup of Nations for girls next year. The competition remains subject to the required sporting and organisational conditions but would provide another important development platform for young female footballers across the continent.
Morocco and Senegal to host futsal and beach soccer
Morocco will also host the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations from 12 to 21 October, while Senegal will stage the 2026 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations in November.
The announcements form part of CAF’s wider efforts to expand and better structure competitions across different formats and age groups.
African Nations League discussions continue
CAF also provided an update on plans for a proposed African Nations League.
Discussions on the format have taken place within the CAF Executive Committee, with the proposed competition intended to provide national teams with more meaningful international fixtures while also creating greater commercial opportunities.
South Africa to host CAF Super Cup
South Africa has been confirmed as the host of the 2026 CAF Super Cup, which will take place in Tshwane on 8 November 2026.
The match will feature Mamelodi Sundowns, the CAF Champions League winners, against USM Alger, the CAF Confederation Cup champions.
Continental club competitions set for September
CAF has also confirmed the dates for the preliminary rounds of the 2026-27 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
- First legs: 4–6 September 2026
- Second legs: 11–13 September 2026
The early announcement of hosts and competition dates is intended to give clubs and national associations greater certainty when planning their seasons.
