Zamalek vice-chairman Hisham Nasr has provided an update on the club’s efforts to secure its CAF licence for next season’s CAF Champions League and resolve the registration ban caused by outstanding financial disputes involving former players and coaches.
Speaking to Al-Watan Sport, Nasr revealed that Zamalek have successfully settled 12 cases related to unpaid financial dues, with only five cases remaining before the club can fully resolve the crisis.
“Zamalek Club has reached solutions in 12 cases of the delayed financial dues issue. Only five cases remain, and we are working on reaching settlements with the concerned parties in order to lift the registration ban on the team,” Nasr said.
The club official stressed that the management remains determined to end the restrictions and strengthen the squad ahead of the new campaign.
“We are working hard to resolve the registration suspension crisis facing Zamalek. We have submitted an appeal regarding the registration ban, and we will continue fighting until the end to make new signings and support the team for the upcoming season,” he added.
Zamalek are also racing against time to meet the CAF licensing requirements before the June 30 deadline, which is necessary for the Egyptian giants to participate in next season’s CAF Champions League.
The club has recently received a financial boost following developments regarding its new land project, with construction work expected to begin in October.
Zamalek’s management hopes the improvement in the financial situation will help clear the remaining obligations and allow the club to move forward with its plans for the 2026/27 season.
