Moroccan Botola Pro side FUS Rabat have officially parted ways with head coach Said Chiba and his entire technical staff by mutual consent, ending the 2026/27 season preparations with a major change on the bench.
The decision brings an end to Chiba’s two-year spell in charge, despite the former Morocco youth coach still having one year remaining on his contract.
Mutual agreement ends Chiba’s tenure
According to reports, FUS Rabat’s management and Chiba reached an amicable agreement to terminate the contract during a meeting held on Wednesday.
The separation also includes Chiba’s assistant coaches and the rest of his technical staff, with the club opting for a complete overhaul of its coaching setup ahead of the new campaign.
By agreeing to part ways mutually, both parties have avoided any legal or contractual disputes, allowing for a smooth transition.
Club opts for fresh direction
FUS Rabat believe a new technical project is needed as they seek to improve their performances in the Botola Pro next season.
Chiba was appointed in 2024 following the departure of Jamal Sellami, who left to become head coach of the Jordan national team.
During his two seasons in charge, Chiba guided the club through a rebuilding phase while working to establish a competitive squad.
However, with preparations for the new season underway, the club’s hierarchy has decided it is time for a change.
Search for successor begins
FUS Rabat are now expected to accelerate their search for a new head coach, with an appointment anticipated before the start of pre-season.
The incoming manager will be tasked with leading the club’s recruitment strategy, overseeing preparations for the 2026/27 campaign and building a team capable of challenging more consistently in the Botola Pro.
Meanwhile, Chiba leaves FUS Rabat with a strong reputation in Moroccan football after previously enjoying success with the country’s youth national teams.
The experienced coach is expected to attract interest from clubs and national teams as he considers the next step in his managerial career.
