Senegal defender Abdoulaye Seck set to join Saudi Pro League newcomers Al-Faysali

Senegal international Abdoulaye Seck is expected to complete his transfer to Saudi Pro League newcomers Al-Faysali on Saturday as the promoted club continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

According to Saudi journalist Abdullah Madjeed, the experienced centre-back is scheduled to sign his contract with Al-Faysali, bringing an end to speculation surrounding his future.

Experienced defender set for Saudi move

The transfer will see the 34-year-old begin his first spell in Saudi Arabian club football after a career that has taken him across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

Al-Faysali have been active in the transfer market since securing promotion, targeting experienced players capable of helping the club compete in the top flight.

Seck is expected to become one of the latest additions after the club completed the signing of striker Alexandre Mendy from Montpellier.

Wealth of experience

Throughout his career, Seck has represented Senegalese side Diambars, Belgian club Royal Antwerp and Israeli champions Maccabi Haifa, establishing himself as a reliable and experienced central defender.

His arrival is expected to provide leadership and defensive stability as Al-Faysali prepare for the challenges of life in the Saudi Pro League.

New challenge awaits

The move will also see Seck join the growing list of Senegalese players competing in Saudi Arabia, where fellow international Sadio Mané is already one of the league’s biggest stars.

For Al-Faysali, signing a player with extensive club and international experience underlines the club’s ambition to build a squad capable of securing its place in the Saudi Pro League.

Although the transfer has yet to be officially announced, all indications suggest Seck will finalise the deal on Saturday before joining his new teammates for preparations ahead of the upcoming campaign.
