Moataz Gamal, head coach of Zamalek, has urged his players to remain focused ahead of their crucial African Confederation Cup semi-final against CR Belouizdad.

Speaking during a training session on Tuesday, Gamal delivered a detailed tactical briefing to his squad at the Nelson Mandela Stadium auxiliary pitch, where the team is preparing for the first leg of the tie. The coach emphasised the importance of securing a strong result away from home to ease pressure ahead of the return leg.

During the session, Gamal outlined key tactical plans and clarified the roles expected of each player on the pitch. He also highlighted specific technical aspects he intended to implement during training, ensuring the squad is fully prepared for the upcoming encounter.

The Egyptian side face a demanding challenge against their Algerian opponents, with the first leg scheduled for Friday, 10 April. The match is expected to play a significant role in determining which team gains the upper hand in the two-legged semi-final.

Gamal stressed that concentration and discipline would be critical factors, particularly given the difficulty of playing away in Algeria. He made it clear that achieving a positive result in the first leg would significantly improve Zamalek’s chances of progressing to the final.

The return leg will take place a week later, on 17 April, at the Cairo International Stadium, where Zamalek will look to capitalise on any advantage gained in the first meeting.

Zamalek’s preparations reflect the importance of the fixture, with the team aiming to secure continental success in the African Confederation Cup. The semi-final represents a key moment in their campaign, and the coaching staff appear focused on ensuring the players are both tactically and mentally ready.

The upcoming clash with CR Belouizdad is expected to be closely contested, with both sides seeking to take control of the tie ahead of the decisive second leg in Cairo.
