Tchatchoua emerges as transfer target after Wolves relegation

Cameroon international Jackson TchatchouaTchatchoua is attracting widespread transfer interest following Wolverhampton Wanderers’ relegation from the Premier League, with several clubs across Europe and England monitoring his situation.

The 24-year-old right-back is not expected to feature in the Championship next season after Wolves’ drop to the second tier was confirmed. The club sit bottom of the table with 17 points from 33 matches, sealing their fate with games still to play.

Despite the team’s struggles, Tchatchoua has emerged as a standout performer, making 30 appearances since his arrival last August. His displays have drawn attention from multiple suitors, positioning him as a potential key figure in the upcoming transfer market.

Spanish side Real Betis are understood to be leading the race for his signature. The La Liga club are said to be impressed by his energy, consistency, and effectiveness in transitional phases of play. Fellow Spanish outfit Villarreal CF are also keeping close tabs on the defender as they assess options to strengthen their squad.

Interest is not limited to Spain. In France, both Olympique de Marseille and Stade Rennais are reportedly keen to bolster their defensive ranks and have identified Tchatchoua as a possible addition.

Meanwhile, several Premier League clubs could offer the player an immediate return to top-flight football. Brentford FC, Fulham FC, and Crystal Palace are all believed to be considering moves for the Cameroon international.

Tchatchoua remains under contract at Wolves until 2030, placing the club in a strong negotiating position. However, his rising profile and the team’s relegation mean he is increasingly viewed as a valuable asset who could generate significant transfer income.

Having joined the club less than a year ago, the defender’s rapid development has been one of the few positives in an otherwise difficult campaign for Wolves. His performances have demonstrated resilience and adaptability, qualities that have not gone unnoticed by scouts across Europe.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Wolves face a decision over whether to retain one of their most promising players as they prepare for life in the Championship, or to capitalise on the growing interest and secure a lucrative deal.
