Kevin Okumu: Kenyan right-back joins Nairobi United from KCB Nairobi

Kenyan defender Kevin Okumu has joined Nairobi United from KCB Nairobi, strengthening the capital club’s options at right-back ahead of the new campaign. The 28-year-old, who specialises on the right side of defence, makes the move within Nairobi after spending the past seasons with KCB.

Okumu, born on 24 April 1998, arrives as a recognised right-back and will be expected to add experience and depth to Nairobi United’s back line. The transfer, completed on 17 July 2026, keeps the player in familiar surroundings in the city while marking a fresh chapter in his career.

Before switching to Nairobi United, Okumu had established himself at KCB Nairobi following his move there in August 2022 from Nairobi City Stars. The latest transfer is his second consecutive move between Nairobi clubs, underlining his standing within the local top-flight scene.

Primarily deployed as a defender on the right, Okumu’s role at Nairobi United is likely to centre on providing stability in wide areas and additional defensive cover over the course of the 2026–27 season. His age and experience in domestic competition give the club a ready-made option rather than a developmental signing.

Okumu’s move from KCB Nairobi to Nairobi United is confirmed as a completed transfer for the 2026–27 season.
