Nigeria attacking midfielder Christopher Boniface has swapped Qatar for Israel, joining H. Ramat Gan on a free transfer from Al-Kharaitiyat.
The 24-year-old has moved to the Ligat ha’Al club after leaving Al-Kharaitiyat, where he played in the Qatari Second Division. His new contract runs until 30 June 2028.
Boniface made 13 appearances in the Qatari Second Division during the 2025-26 season, scoring twice and providing one assist. He also featured in the QSL Cup, adding two goals and one assist in eight appearances.
The move gives H. Ramat Gan a midfielder who operates primarily in an attacking role. Boniface is comfortable using either foot and stands 1.80m tall.
He joined Al-Kharaitiyat in August 2025 after departing Armenian side Ararat Yerevan. That switch followed a season with Ararat, where he made three appearances in the Armenian Independence Cup and scored twice.
Boniface’s earlier career included a spell with FC Van, also in Armenia, after he left Right2Win SA in August 2022. He subsequently joined Ararat on a free transfer in September 2024 before moving to Al-Kharaitiyat the following year.
Across the league competition recorded as the Premier League, Boniface has made 68 appearances, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists. Those figures form the largest body of league experience in his senior career.
His arrival continues a career that has taken him from Nigeria to South Africa, Armenia and Qatar before this move to Israel. H. Ramat Gan are his third club in as many countries since the start of the 2024-25 season.
Boniface’s market value is listed at €200,000, the same figure recorded as his highest valuation. No transfer fee was paid for the move, with the midfielder leaving Al-Kharaitiyat as a free agent.
The transfer was registered on 3 August 2026, with Boniface joining H. Ramat Gan ahead of the club’s campaign in Israel’s Ligat ha’Al. The Nigerian midfielder is now contracted to the Israeli club until the end of June 2028.
