Nigerian midfielder Emmanuel Prince Obinna has joined Armenian Premier League side FC Van on a free transfer from Ararat Yerevan. The 18-year-old right-sided player makes the switch within Armenia’s top flight after finalising the move on 29 July 2026.
Obinna, who is listed as a right midfielder, arrives at Van with first-team experience already in Armenian football. He featured in the Premier League and the Armenian Independence Cup for Ararat Yerevan last season after moving to the club earlier in 2026.
During his time at Ararat Yerevan, Obinna registered seven league appearances, scoring once and providing one assist, while also appearing in two cup matches. His league minutes suggest he was eased into senior football, with just over 200 minutes played in the top division, but he still managed to contribute directly to goals in that limited time.
The teenager first came to Armenian football when he left Nigerian side GB Owerri for Ararat Yerevan in February 2026. His performances since then have seen his market value rise to around €100,000, underlining the impact he has made in a short spell in Europe.
Obinna’s move to FC Van is a permanent free transfer and he joins the club ahead of the 2026–27 campaign, offering additional depth on the right side of midfield for the Premier League outfit.
