Tunisian champions Espérance Sportive de Tunis have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Morocco international Sofiane Boufal, identifying the experienced winger as one of their priority transfer targets ahead of the new season.
According to reports, the Tunisian giants have already opened discussions with Boufal’s representatives as they explore the possibility of signing the 32-year-old during the current summer transfer window.
Free-agent status boosts interest
Boufal is currently available as a free agent, making him an attractive option for Espérance, who would not be required to pay a transfer fee to secure his services.

Boufal has built an impressive career across Europe and the Middle East.
After emerging at Angers, he made his breakthrough at Lille before earning a then club-record move to Southampton. He has also featured for Celta Vigo, Al-Rayyan, Union Saint-Gilloise, and most recently Le Havre.
During the second half of last season, he made 17 Ligue 1 appearances, registering one goal and four assists.
Morocco stalwart
On the international stage, Boufal has earned 47 caps and scored eight goals for Morocco.
He was a key member of the Atlas Lions squad that reached the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finals, becoming the first African and Arab nation to reach the last four of the competition.
