Alisher Usmanov could renew investment interest in Everton – reports

Businessman Alisher Usmanov could seek to resume his financial involvement with Everton, according to GOAL, which cited comments made by radio presenter Alan Brazil on talkSPORT.

The report comes after Everton’s current owners, The Friedkin Group, said they were exploring options for bringing in new investment, including the potential sale of a controlling stake in the club.

The Friedkin Group completed its purchase of Everton in December 2024.

In 2017, USM Holdings, a company linked to Usmanov, agreed a deal worth £11m for the naming rights to Everton’s training ground. Usmanov later sponsored the club’s women’s team.

Any potential return would be complicated by sanctions imposed on Usmanov by the UK in March 2022.
