Fans of the Algeria national football team have received positive news ahead of the side’s final World Cup warm-up match against Bolivia national football team after uncertainty surrounding the fixture’s organisation and broadcast arrangements.
The friendly, which will take place in Kansas City, had faced confusion in recent hours amid fears that supporters would neither be allowed into the stadium nor able to watch the match on television.
However, a source speaking to WinWin confirmed that the game will now be shown by official Algerian television through its digital platform, easing concerns among supporters both in Algeria and in the United States.
The match is scheduled to kick off after midnight on Thursday at 1:00am Algerian time, corresponding to 7:00pm local time in Kansas City and 3:00am Mecca time.
It represents the final preparation match for the Desert Warriors before the start of the 2026 World Cup.
Algeria national football team have been based in Kansas City since Monday, using the American city as their headquarters during the tournament.
The team trained for the first time at the Rockschalke Park University Center in Lawrence as players began adapting to conditions ahead of the World Cup campaign.
Algeria enter the tournament placed in Group 10 alongside reigning world champions Argentina national football team, as well as Jordan national football team and Austria national football team.
The squad, led by captain Riyad Mahrez, travel into the Bolivia fixture after securing a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands national football team in Rotterdam a few days earlier.
Initial reports had suggested that the match against Bolivia could be played behind closed doors because of delays related to regulatory approvals and security arrangements in Kansas City.
According to the source, local security authorities had not originally included the friendly in their operational programme because preparations for World Cup fan zones and public events had already been finalised before the Algerian Football Federation secured permission for the match.
The source explained that this created difficulties for organisers seeking approval for fan attendance at short notice.
Despite the restrictions remaining in place for supporters, the Algerian Football Federation reportedly succeeded in securing permission for media access after discussions involving FIFA.
The same negotiations also resulted in Algerian television receiving authorisation to broadcast the match digitally, a development expected to reassure fans eager to follow the team’s final preparations before facing Argentina in the World Cup.
A WinWin source further stated that the Algerian Football Federation had encountered difficulties arranging a final friendly match after talks with several football associations failed.
According to the report, FIFA eventually granted the federation an exceptional licence allowing the game against Bolivia to take place on 10 June, despite the official World Cup friendly schedule having closed on 9 June.
The late approval has ensured that Algeria will now complete their final test match before beginning their World Cup campaign.
