Al Ahly prepare major sponsorship announcement with stars invited to ceremony

Al Ahly of Egypt are set to announce one of the biggest commercial agreements in the club’s history during a special ceremony at the foot of the pyramids on Monday evening, with several first-team players expected to attend the event.

The club’s management has instructed a number of senior players to be present as officials reveal details of a new sponsorship partnership and an agreement involving the naming rights of the club’s planned stadium project.

The ceremony will be led by Al Ahly’s board of directors, headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, who are expected to present the details of the club’s latest commercial developments as part of their long-term strategy to strengthen the club financially.

An informed source within Al Ahly told winwin that football director Wael Gomaa had contacted several members of the first team and informed them of the importance of attending the sponsorship announcement event.

The source added: “We also contacted a group of international players who are on vacation to confirm the attendance of a number of them, most notably the team captain and goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy, along with right-back Mohamed Hany.”

The club is also expected to have its full leadership present, with all members of the board of directors scheduled to attend alongside Mahmoud El Khatib.

The source explained that vice-president Yassin Mansour could be the only notable absence from the event.

The announcement is expected to centre around a new sponsorship agreement with a telecommunications company, which will become Al Ahly’s main sponsor for the upcoming period.

According to the report, the deal will provide the club with 1.35 billion Egyptian pounds, with the payment spread across four seasons.

The agreement represents a major financial boost for the Egyptian giants and will increase the overall value of Al Ahly’s sponsorship contracts to approximately 2.6 billion Egyptian pounds from five sponsors.

The club is also continuing discussions with another potential sponsor, with negotiations still ongoing.

In addition to sponsorship income, Al Ahly have already secured significant revenue through the sale of satellite broadcasting rights for a four-season period, which generated 660 million Egyptian pounds.

A key part of Monday’s ceremony will be the announcement of the stadium naming rights agreement.

The same telecommunications company expected to become the club’s main sponsor will also receive naming rights for Al Ahly’s future stadium project.

The agreement is expected to provide the club with substantial financial returns that will help speed up construction and ensure the project remains on schedule for its planned opening in 2029.

Al Ahly will also present details about the different stages of the stadium development, including the expected timeline for completion.

The project is planned to include several additional facilities beyond the stadium itself, such as training pitches, a hospital, a university and a museum.

The announcement reflects Al Ahly’s continued efforts to expand their commercial reach and create additional revenue streams while developing infrastructure that can support the club’s future ambitions.

The club, one of Africa’s most successful sporting institutions, views the sponsorship agreement and stadium project as important steps in building a stronger financial foundation.

With first-team players, board members and commercial partners expected to gather at the event, Monday’s ceremony is set to mark a significant moment in Al Ahly’s plans for the years ahead.
