Senegal winger Assane Diao is attracting growing interest from Premier League clubs after an impressive start to the 2026-27 season, but Como are unwilling to consider offers for the highly rated 20-year-old.
Diao has made four goal contributions in his first four matches of the campaign, performances that have reportedly caught the attention of several English clubs, including Liverpool.
Liverpool are closely monitoring the Senegalese international as they assess potential long-term additions to their attacking options.
The Reds are not the only Premier League side interested in Diao. Newcastle United and Aston Villa have also reportedly approached Como and were prepared to offer more than €50 million for the winger.
However, Como chairman Mirwan Suwarso is said to have rejected those proposals, with the Italian club viewing Diao as an important part of its project.
Como’s decision reflects the growing importance of the Senegalese forward to the club after his arrival in Italy in July 2025.
Diao remains under contract with Como until June 2029, giving the club a strong position as interest from England continues to increase.
The Italian side are also considering extending his contract until 2031 as they look to further strengthen their position and discourage potential suitors.
The 20-year-old has produced four decisive contributions across his opening four matches, establishing himself as one of the players attracting attention from clubs outside Italy.
Liverpool’s interest is particularly notable, with Diao’s style and attacking qualities drawing comparisons with former Reds forward Sadio Mané.
The comparison reflects the qualities that have made the young Senegalese winger an attractive prospect, with his dynamism and efficiency in attack standing out during his early-season performances.
Liverpool are understood to be considering Diao as a potential long-term addition rather than simply a short-term option.
But any attempt to take him away from Como is likely to prove difficult.
Newcastle and Aston Villa have already reportedly been prepared to go beyond the €50 million mark, yet those offers have not persuaded Como to sell.
The club instead regards Diao as central to its plans and does not currently want to part with the player.
Como’s position could become even stronger if the proposed contract extension is completed.
An agreement running until 2031 would provide the club with an even longer commitment from the Senegalese international and reinforce its message that Diao forms a key part of its future plans.
