Adel Bettaieb: Tunisia winger joins Esperance on free transfer from FC Arges

Tunisian-French winger Adel Bettaieb has joined Esperance from Romanian side FC Arges on a free transfer, signing a contract with the Tunisian club until 30 June 2028.

The 29-year-old left-sided attacker, who was born in Villiers-le-Bel in France and stands at 1.84m, moves to Esperance after a year with FC Arges, whom he also joined on a free transfer in July 2025. His latest switch comes with his market value standing at around €900,000.

Bettaieb operates primarily as a left winger but is right-footed, offering Esperance an option to cut inside from the flank in the Tunisian Ligue 1. His arrival adds further depth to the attacking options at one of North Africa’s most prominent clubs as they prepare for upcoming domestic and continental campaigns.

The move continues a career that has taken Bettaieb across several European leagues. Before signing for FC Arges, he played in Romania for Universitatea Cluj and ACSM Poli Iasi, following spells in Turkey with Boluspor and Umraniyespor.

His most notable success to date came in Luxembourg, where he won the national championship with F91 Dudelange in the 2021-22 season after joining them from Belgian side UR La Louviere. Earlier in his career he progressed through the ranks at Angers in France, featuring for their youth and B teams.

Bettaieb is now under contract with Esperance for the next two seasons after completing his free transfer from FC Arges.
