Tottenham Hotspur have announced the death of former player Terry Dyson at the age of 91.
Dyson was a key member of the Tottenham Hotspur side that won the Double in 1961 and scored in the FA Cup final during that successful campaign. He later added two goals in the 1963 European Cup Winners’ Cup final, further establishing his place in the club’s history.
In a statement posted on social media, Tottenham Hotspur said: “Tottenham Hotspur is extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Terry Dyson. Terry was a key member of the team that won the Double in 1961, scoring in the FA Cup final. He also scored twice in the 1963 European Cup Winners’ Cup final. Terry made 209 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur in all competitions, scoring 55 goals. At this incredibly sad time, Tottenham Hotspur extends its deepest condolences to Terry’s family and friends.”
