South African forward Thabang Sibanyoni is being linked with a move from Magesi FC to Betway Premiership side Kruger United as he approaches the final months of his contract. The 30-year-old centre-forward, who joined Magesi from Mamelodi Sundowns in August 2025, is out of contract on 30 June 2026, increasing the prospect of a change of club in the next window.
Kruger United are understood to be exploring attacking reinforcements from within the domestic market, with Sibanyoni viewed as an experienced option after several seasons at top-flight level. He has featured regularly in the Betway Premiership, making 59 league appearances with six goals and two assists, as well as contributing in promotion-relegation play-offs and domestic cup competitions.
Sibanyoni’s career has included an extended spell on the books of Sundowns, during which he was sent on a series of loans, including to SuperSport United, University of Pretoria, Richards Bay and Sekhukhune. His switch to Magesi on a free transfer last year marked a rare period of stability after those temporary moves.
With his current estimated value around €150,000 and no transfer fee due if he runs down his deal, the forward represents a potentially low-cost option for Kruger United as they plan for the new campaign. Magesi, meanwhile, must decide whether to cash in before his contract expires or risk losing him for nothing next summer.
For now, Sibanyoni remains a Magesi player, with his immediate future shaped by whether negotiations over a move – or an extension – gain momentum in the coming weeks.
