Shehata Sends Rallying Cry as Zamalek Chase Continental Glory

Zamalek SC have received a morale boost ahead of their decisive CAF Confederation Cup second-leg final against USM Alger, after former Egypt national team coach Hassan Shehata publicly expressed strong support for the team.

The experienced coach delivered a message of encouragement through his social media platforms, urging the players to rise to the occasion as they prepare for the high-stakes clash scheduled for Saturday night at Cairo International Stadium.

Shehata, one of Egypt’s most respected football figures, voiced full confidence in the squad’s ability to overturn the deficit and deliver silverware for their supporters.

“I have blind faith in the Zamalek players, and I trust you to help the team win the match and make the fans happy who came to support you during the Confederation Cup final,” he said.

He further extended his confidence to the technical staff and leadership within the club, highlighting belief in their capacity to guide Zamalek to success not only in continental competition but also in domestic football.

“I trust Captain Moataz Gamal and the technical staff, as well as the players, and I am confident that they are capable of winning the CAF Confederation Cup title and the Egyptian League title,” he added.

Zamalek go into the second leg with a challenging task, needing to overturn a 1–0 defeat suffered in the first leg away from home at the July 5 Stadium.

To lift the trophy, the Egyptian giants must secure a 2–0 victory in Cairo, a result that would see them complete a comeback and claim the continental title in front of their home supporters.

The match, set for 9pm on Saturday, is expected to draw a packed crowd at Cairo International Stadium as Zamalek aim to capitalise on home advantage and secure one of African football’s most prestigious club trophies.

With everything on the line, attention now turns to whether Zamalek can deliver the required performance under pressure and respond to the rallying call from one of Egypt’s most iconic coaching figures
