Colombian pop icon Shakira has officially released “Dai Dai,” the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring Nigerian Grammy-winning star Burna Boy.
The highly anticipated anthem dropped on Thursday, 14th May, after days of teasing from Shakira, who first announced the collaboration from the famous Maracanã Stadium.
Blending Shakira’s signature Latin pop energy with Burna Boy’s Afro-fusion sound, “Dai Dai” is expected to become one of the defining songs of the 2026 FIFA World Cup as excitement builds toward the tournament in North America.
Fans across social media reacted immediately following the release, praising the collaboration between two global music stars and highlighting the growing influence of African music on the world stage.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by United States, Canada and Mexico, will be the biggest edition in the tournament’s history.
A total of 48 teams will compete across 16 host cities, with the competition expanded from 64 to 104 matches under FIFA’s new format.
Shakira has a strong history with FIFA World Cup music after delivering some of the tournament’s most memorable songs, including Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) and La La La (Brazil 2014).
For Burna Boy, the collaboration marks another major international milestone as the African superstar continues to expand his global presence through football and entertainment partnerships.
