Senegalese duo power Everton past Chelsea in Premier League clash

Everton strengthened their bid for European football with a convincing 3-0 victory over Chelsea, as Senegal internationals Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye played pivotal roles in a one-sided Premier League encounter.

The result lifts Everton into seventh place in the table, putting them within two points of Chelsea, who remain just ahead but now face increasing pressure in the race for continental qualification.

While Everton had already established control, it was Ndiaye’s goal in the second half that emphatically sealed the outcome.

The 76th-minute strike showcased both composure and technical quality, highlighting the attacker’s growing importance to the team.

The move began with a long clearance from goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, which was met by striker Beto.

His header directed the ball into Ndiaye’s path, allowing the Senegalese forward to take on his defender.

With a quick shift of balance, he created space before curling a precise effort into the far corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no opportunity to respond.

Ndiaye’s goal was his sixth of the league season, adding to three assists, and reflected his increasing influence in Everton’s attacking play. His ability to combine creativity with finishing has provided the side with an added dimension in the final third.

Earlier, Gueye had made a decisive contribution in midfield. In the 62nd minute, he delivered a well-timed pass that allowed Beto to score Everton’s second goal. The assist marked Gueye’s second in the league this season, complementing his two goals and underlining his continued value to the team.

Operating from midfield, Gueye helped dictate the tempo of the game, breaking up Chelsea’s play while also supporting attacking movements.

Chelsea struggled to respond to Everton’s intensity and organisation, failing to find a way back into the match after falling behind. The London side were unable to cope with the pace and cohesion of their opponents, particularly as Everton pressed forward with confidence.

The performance as a whole reflected a team in strong form, combining defensive solidity with attacking efficiency. Everton’s clinical approach ensured that their dominance was translated into a clear and deserved victory.

For Everton, the contributions of their Senegalese players continue to stand out. Ndiaye’s attacking flair and Gueye’s midfield authority have become central to the team’s recent progress, offering both creativity and stability.

As the Premier League season moves towards its conclusion, Everton’s latest result not only boosts their position in the standings but also signals their intent.

With momentum building, they remain firmly in contention for a place in European competition, while Chelsea are left facing renewed uncertainty in their own campaign.
