Real Madrid defeated Sevilla 4-1 as Kylian Mbappe scored twice, including a Panenka penalty, while Arda Guler and Yan Diomande were also on target.
Guler opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a spectacular strike before Mbappe extended Real Madrid’s advantage seven minutes later. The France forward completed his double from the spot in the 63rd minute, calmly lifting his penalty over the goalkeeper.
Sevilla reduced the deficit through Manu Bueno in the 80th minute, but Diomande restored Real Madrid’s three-goal lead two minutes later to complete the scoring.
The match began with Eder Militao among Real Madrid’s substitutes. Mbappe combined with Diomande in the fourth minute before shooting wide from the edge of the penalty area, while Diomande then weaved between three Sevilla defenders but struck the side netting.
Sevilla created an opportunity of their own when Gabriel Suazo linked up with Ruben Vargas inside the area. Suazo turned before sending a snap-shot into the side netting.
Endrick tested Sevilla from 30 yards in the 22nd minute, but his low effort was saved. Arda Guler avoided punishment after appearing to aim an elbow at Peque Fernandez, while Dean Huijsen and Felix Correia were booked after becoming involved in a confrontation between several players.
Mbappe nearly scored again shortly after Guler’s opener, before adding the second goal in devastating fashion in the 37th minute.
Real Madrid made a double substitution in the 70th minute, with Brahim Diaz and Bernardo Silva replacing Endrick and Jude Bellingham. Sevilla then pulled one goal back through Bueno before Diomande struck for the final goal of the game.
