France international Presnel Kimpembe, currently a free agent after leaving Qatar SC, is being linked with a move to Qatari Second Division side Al-Kharaitiyat.
The 30-year-old centre-back, who lifted the World Cup with France in 2018, is assessing his options following the expiry of his deal in Qatar at the start of July and is attracting interest from Al-Kharaitiyat as they look to strengthen their defence. Kimpembe’s market value is currently estimated at around €3 million, and any agreement would come as a free transfer after he officially became unattached this summer.
Kimpembe moved to Qatar SC in September 2025 following a long spell at Paris Saint-Germain, where he progressed through the club’s youth ranks before establishing himself in the first team. He later added a UEFA Champions League winner’s medal in the 2024-25 campaign, capping a glittering period in which he also collected multiple domestic honours.
In Ligue 1 he amassed 165 appearances, underlining his experience at the highest level in European football before his move to the Gulf. His brief stint in the Stars League with Qatar SC last season produced nine league outings as he adapted to a new environment.
Born in Beaumont-sur-Oise and comfortable on the left side of central defence, Kimpembe holds both French and DR Congo nationality but has represented France at senior level. For now he remains without a club as discussions continue, with Al-Kharaitiyat exploring the possibility of bringing the former PSG defender back into Qatari football.
