Orlando Pirates start their 2026/27 Betway Premiership title defence at home to newly promoted Milford FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00.
The defending champions will be looking to open the campaign with a victory in front of their home supporters as they begin the process of defending their league crown.
The match is also Orlando Pirates’ first competitive fixture since the departure of Relebohile Mofokeng. The Buccaneers will therefore aim to make a strong start as they launch a new season and seek to establish early momentum.
Orlando Pirates are overwhelming favourites to claim all three points against a Milford FC side appearing in the Betway Premiership for the first time.
Milford FC secured promotion through the playoffs and will be led by coach Dr Xanti Pupuma in the club’s historic top-flight debut. The visitors enter the contest with nothing to lose as they prepare to face one of South Africa’s biggest clubs.
For Orlando Pirates, the priority will be to avoid an opening-day setback and begin their title defence with a win. Milford FC, meanwhile, will hope the occasion of their first Betway Premiership match can inspire them to produce a surprise result at the Orlando Amstel Arena.
