Champions Orlando Pirates will open their Betway Premiership title defence against newly promoted Milford FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena, with kick-off set for 15:00.
The fixture is among a number of confirmed changes to the opening weekend schedule, with several matches receiving revised venues and times ahead of the new campaign.
Orlando Pirates will start the season at home after winning the previous Betway Premiership campaign. Their opponents, Milford FC, have been promoted and will face the champions in their first match at this level.
Mamelodi Sundowns, meanwhile, will not begin their campaign as originally planned. Their opening Betway Premiership match against Marumo Gallants has been postponed until further notice.
No new date has been announced for the Mamelodi Sundowns fixture against Marumo Gallants. The postponement means the champions’ opening match is currently the only fixture in the initial schedule confirmed as delayed.
Kaizer Chiefs will begin their season away from home when they travel to Mbombela Stadium to play newly promoted Kruger United. That match is scheduled to kick off at 20:15.
The opening weekend will also feature a meeting between Golden Arrows and Chippa United, with Golden Arrows set to host the game at King Zwelithini Stadium.
There have been changes to the venues for two further matches.
Stellenbosch FC will host AmaZulu FC at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium. The fixture had previously been scheduled to take place at Danie Craven Stadium.
Sekhukhune United have also moved their home match. They will welcome Durban City FC to Seshego Stadium, rather than New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The revised schedule confirms Betway Premiership matches across Saturday, 1 August and Sunday, 2 August. The listed kick-off times are 15:00, 17:30 and 20:15 on Saturday, with 15:00 and 17:30 shown for Sunday.
The schedule announcement therefore combines confirmed opening fixtures with changes still to be resolved. Orlando Pirates’ match against Milford FC and Kaizer Chiefs’ meeting with Kruger United have confirmed venues and kick-off times, while Mamelodi Sundowns’ fixture against Marumo Gallants remains postponed until further notice.
The opening-round changes also mean supporters planning to attend the matches will need to take note of the updated stadium information. Golden Arrows’ match will be played at King Zwelithini Stadium, Stellenbosch FC’s home fixture against AmaZulu FC has been moved to Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium, and Sekhukhune United’s game against Durban City FC will take place at Seshego Stadium.
The confirmed fixtures are scheduled for Saturday, 1 August and Sunday, 2 August, subject to the postponement already announced for Mamelodi Sundowns against Marumo Gallants.
