Lazio name 24-man squad for Juventus clash as Luca Pellegrini returns

Gennaro Gattuso has named a 24-player Lazio squad for Sunday’s Serie A meeting with Juventus, with Luca Pellegrini included after spending most of the season out of contention.

Lazio need victory in Turin to move level with leaders Inter at the top of the Serie A table. They face a Juventus side who drew 1-1 with Cagliari last weekend before responding with a 2-1 away win against Celta Vigo in the Europa League.

The match also brings together two former Italy national team head coaches. Gattuso replaced Luciano Spalletti as Italy’s CT last year, and the pair will now meet in opposing dugouts at club level.

Pellegrini has made only one appearance this season, featuring in the first round of the Coppa Italia. His inclusion provides Gattuso with an additional option for a match expected to be one of the key fixtures of the Serie A weekend.

Gattuso is not expected to make many changes to the side that secured their previous win. However, Josip Sutalo has been suggested as a possible starter at centre-back in place of Danilho Doekhi.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19.45 BST.
