Tunisia centre-back Khalil Sassi has joined AS Soliman on a free transfer from Stade Gabesien, signing a contract with the club until 30 June 2028.
The 31-year-old defender, who stands at 1.85m and is left-footed, makes the switch after one season with Stade Gabesien. His move keeps him in Tunisian football’s top flight, where he has amassed more than 80 league appearances over the course of his career.
Sassi brings significant Ligue 1 experience to Soliman’s back line, having played 83 times in the division with three goals and two assists, as well as further outings in the Tunisian Cup and play-off and play-out phases. He has accumulated well over 8,000 minutes of senior football in domestic competitions, underlining his status as an established top-flight defender.
Before joining Stade Gabesien in 2025, Sassi had a spell abroad with Busaiteen Club following his time at CS Chebba, a move he made after leaving CA Bizertin. His performances at Bizertin coincided with his highest recorded market valuation of €350,000, reflecting his standing in the Tunisian game at that time.
Earlier in his career, Sassi came through the ranks at Club Africain, making the step up from their under-19 side in 2013 and gaining further first-team experience through loan spells with AS Gabes, EO Sidi Bouzid, JS Kairouan and US Tataouine.
Sassi’s arrival at AS Soliman is confirmed as a permanent free transfer, with the Tunisian defender now tied to the club for the next two seasons.
