French-Algerian midfielder Karim Bellahcene has joined Sarreguemines on a free transfer from Schiltigheim. The 29-year-old central midfielder makes the move after spending the past five years in the senior ranks of the Alsace club.
Bellahcene, born in Schiltigheim in May 1997, switches to Sarreguemines after his contract with Schiltigheim came to an end. The deal sees him remain in French football, with the move completed on 23 July 2026.
A right-footed central midfielder standing at 1.85m, Bellahcene has spent the bulk of his career in eastern France. After progressing through the youth system at Schiltigheim, he first broke into their senior side in 2016 before leaving for Vauban Strasbourg in 2018, again on a free transfer.
In 2020 he joined FR Haguenau, where he spent a season before returning to Schiltigheim in 2021, once more moving without a fee. His latest switch to Sarreguemines continues a career built across several regional clubs, largely within the same footballing corridor of France.
Bellahcene holds both French and Algerian nationality and has consistently been used through the middle of the pitch, operating primarily as a central midfielder. His move offers Sarreguemines an experienced option in the heart of their side, with a player who has already adapted to multiple teams in the region.
The transfer, completed as a free move from Schiltigheim, confirms Bellahcene as the latest addition to the Sarreguemines squad.
