France-Algeria winger Idriss Fares has joined Racing CFF on a free transfer from JA Drancy. The 24-year-old left-sided attacker moves within the French pyramid after a deal was finalised on 23 July 2026.
Fares, who operates primarily as a left winger, steps up from National 2 Group E to National 1 Group A as he links up with Racing CFF. The move is a permanent switch after a single season with JA Drancy, where he arrived in the summer of 2025, also as a free transfer.
Paris-born Fares has built his career across the French and Belgian lower leagues, with his pace and profile earning him a series of opportunities over the past few seasons. Before returning to Drancy, he spent the 2024-25 campaign with Belgian side UR La Louviere, having joined them from Paris FC’s reserve team.
His path back to the Paris region began at youth level with LOSC Lille’s U19s, followed by a move to JA Drancy’s U19 side in 2020. He then made the jump into senior football with FC 93 Bobigny in 2021, where his performances earned him a transfer to Paris FC B a year later.
Fares, who holds both French and Algerian nationality, now joins a Racing CFF squad competing in the third tier and aiming to consolidate their position in National 1 Group A. The winger officially becomes a Racing player ahead of the 2026-27 season following his free transfer from JA Drancy.
