Hichem Khoutri: French-Algerian defender joins Bourgoin-Jallieu on free transfer

French-Algerian centre-back Hichem Khoutri has joined FC Bourgoin-Jallieu from Andrezieux on a free transfer. The 24-year-old defender makes the move into National 2 Group F, strengthening Bourgoin-Jallieu’s back line ahead of the new campaign.

Khoutri arrives after a short spell at Andrezieux, who compete in National 1 Group C, having signed for them earlier in 2026 following a period without a club. His switch to Bourgoin-Jallieu is a permanent deal, confirmed on 17 July 2026.

Standing at 1.88m and operating primarily as a right-footed centre-back, Khoutri already has significant experience across the French lower divisions. He has featured in National 1, National 2 and National 3, as well as in the Coupe de France, giving him a broad grounding in senior football despite his age.

Over recent seasons he has built up regular game time, including 26 appearances and five goals in one National 3 campaign, and further outings in National 1 and National 2 that underline his familiarity with the level Bourgoin-Jallieu now compete in. His most recent matches in National 1 Group C add top-tier semi-professional experience to the club’s defensive options.

Born in Croix in May 2002, Khoutri has represented clubs across France since his youth days, progressing through various regional sides before establishing himself in senior competition. His dual French and Algerian nationality adds to a growing group of bi-national players in the country’s semi-professional ranks.

Khoutri’s move from Andrezieux completes Bourgoin-Jallieu’s latest piece of summer business as they reshape their squad for the National 2 season.
