Senegal defender Cherif Segnane has joined French side Lucon FC on a free transfer from Les Sables VF. The 21-year-old right-back makes the move ahead of the 2026-27 campaign after leaving the National 2 club at the end of last season.
Segnane, who was born on 28 July 2004, operates primarily at right-back and will add depth to Lucon’s defensive options. The transfer was completed on 17 July 2026, with the player now registered to represent Lucon FC in the upcoming season.
The Senegalese defender arrives from Les Sables VF, where he gained experience in the French fourth tier. Last season he featured in National 2 Group B and the Coupe de France, accumulating game time across league and cup as he adjusted to senior football in France.
In National 2 action, Segnane made 10 appearances and also appeared once in the Coupe de France. His minutes were largely managed from the bench, but the run of games provided him with his first sustained exposure to competitive European football.
Lucon FC will be Segnane’s new platform as he continues his development in France, with the move confirmed as a free transfer following the expiry of his spell at Les Sables VF.
