English-Nigerian defender Samuel Adenola has left Hemel to become a free agent after his departure from the National League South side was finalised on 17 July 2026.
The 24-year-old right-back, born in London and comfortable on his right foot, exits Hemel having established himself in the division over recent seasons. His move away leaves him without a club as he considers the next step in his career.
Adenola joined Hemel in December 2024 from Hendon on a free transfer, stepping up from the Isthmian League into the National League South. Since then he has featured regularly at right-back, gaining significant experience in the sixth tier of English football.
Across his time in the National League South, Adenola has made 47 appearances, scoring three goals and supplying two assists, while amassing more than 4,000 minutes on the pitch. He has also played in the FA Cup, featuring twice and completing 210 minutes in the competition.
Before moving to Hemel, Adenola spent a season and a half with Hendon, having arrived there in July 2023 from Harrow Borough. His senior pathway has taken him through several non-league clubs, including Holmesdale, Erith & Belvedere and Thamesmead Town, as he built a reputation as a consistent right-sided defender.
With his contract at Hemel now ended and no new club announced, Adenola’s registration status has been updated to show that he is currently without a club following his confirmed exit from the National League South team.
