Ivory Coast winger Bazoumana Touré has been tipped to make an immediate impact in the Premier League after completing a record-breaking €50 million move to Newcastle United.
The 20-year-old has joined the Magpies from German side TSG Hoffenheim on a long-term contract, marking one of the biggest transfers involving an Ivorian player at such a young age.
Touré’s move represents a major step forward in a career that has progressed rapidly over recent months, with coach and football analyst Nasser Eddy believing the young winger has all the qualities needed to succeed at St James’ Park.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with 225foot, Eddy praised Touré’s development and said the winger’s experience in the Bundesliga has prepared him for the demands of English football.
“Bazoumana Touré has been on an excellent run of form for several months now; he’s a player whose development is phenomenal.
“His time in the Bundesliga toughened him up, but at Newcastle, he’ll reach another level. He’s joining an extremely ambitious club with world-class facilities and a passionate fanbase. He has absolutely everything he needs to succeed there,” Eddy said.
The former Hoffenheim player arrives in England after gaining valuable experience in Germany, where he established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s exciting young attacking talents.
Eddy believes Touré’s playing style makes him well suited to the intensity of the Premier League, highlighting his pace, ability in one-on-one situations and creativity in attacking areas.
“The Premier League is renowned for its intensity, directness, and lightning-fast transitions. It’s a style of football that perfectly suits his inherent qualities: his top speed, his ability to beat defenders one-on-one, and his vision in the final third. It’s an excellent career choice.
“I see him establishing himself very quickly under his new manager and electrifying St. James’ Park,” he added.
Newcastle’s decision to invest €50 million in the Ivorian international reflects their belief in his potential to become a key player for the club in the future.
Touré’s market value has continued to rise following his impressive performances in Germany.
According to Transfermarkt, the winger is currently valued at €40 million, highlighting the growing reputation he has built despite his young age.
During his recent campaign, Touré recorded five goals and nine assists across all competitions, numbers that demonstrated his ability to contribute both as a scorer and a creator.
The move also represents another important milestone for Ivory Coast football, with Touré emerging as one of the country’s most promising attacking players.
The winger is expected to continue developing under the pressure and expectations of English football, where Newcastle will hope his speed, creativity and attacking instinct can provide an additional threat.
