Gian Piero Gasperini said Roma’s victory over Genoa in the seventh round of the Italian championship delivered exactly the response he had wanted following their defeat by Real.
Roma recovered from that loss to claim victory against Genoa, with Gasperini identifying the reaction as the main outcome of the match.
“That is exactly the reaction I wanted after Real,” Roma’s manager said.
Roma were last crowned champions of Italy in 2001.
