Galatasaray have made an €18m offer for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Sarr, but the initial bid has been rejected as the Turkish club continues negotiations with the Premier League side.
Tottenham are understood to be seeking at least €25m for Sarr, leaving a €7m gap between the two clubs’ current positions. Discussions remain ongoing as Galatasaray attempt to reach an agreement for the Senegal international.
According to the report, Galatasaray are also making progress in talks with Sarr over personal terms. There are currently no issues in those negotiations, although an agreement between the player and the Turkish club would not complete the transfer without Tottenham’s approval.
The €18m proposal is the first offer mentioned in the negotiations and has not been accepted by Tottenham. The London club’s demand for a minimum of €25m means the two sides must continue working towards a compromise if the move is to proceed.
Sarr remains a Tottenham player while the discussions continue. Galatasaray are pressing ahead with talks despite the rejection of their opening bid, and the positive progress on personal terms provides the Turkish club with an encouraging position in negotiations with the midfielder.
No agreement has yet been reached between Galatasaray and Tottenham Hotspur, and the final outcome will depend on whether the clubs can bridge the difference over the transfer fee. For now, Galatasaray’s offer stands at €18m, while Tottenham’s valuation remains at least €25m.
The negotiations therefore involve two separate elements: the fee required by Tottenham and the terms being discussed between Galatasaray and Sarr. The player negotiations are currently described as progressing without problems, while the clubs remain apart on the amount required to complete the transfer.
The report was presented as an exclusive update and focused on Galatasaray’s bid, Tottenham’s response and the status of the personal discussions. Further talks are expected as both clubs consider whether an agreement can be found.
The transfer situation is consequently unresolved. Galatasaray have shown their willingness to pursue Sarr with an opening offer, but Tottenham’s rejection means the Turkish club would need to improve its proposal or negotiate a lower fee from the Premier League club. Until that happens, Sarr remains at Tottenham Hotspur, with talks continuing on both the transfer and personal fronts.
