FIFA has officially approved the sporting nationality switch of Feyenoord youngster Nassim El Harmouz, making the highly-rated midfielder eligible to represent Morocco at international level.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) successfully completed the necessary “Change of Association” process, securing the commitment of the Dutch-born talent for the Atlas Lions.
Born in Amsterdam in 2007, El Harmouz has developed through the renowned Feyenoord academy and is regarded as one of the most promising young players within the Rotterdam club’s system. Capable of playing as a defensive or central midfielder, he is praised for his tactical intelligence, composure in possession and ability to control the rhythm of the game.
FIFA has now updated its official records to confirm the change, permanently transferring El Harmouz’s international eligibility from the Netherlands to Morocco.
The 19-year-old recently reinforced his commitment to Feyenoord by signing a contract extension that will keep him at the club until June 2028, underlining the confidence placed in his long-term potential.
His arrival in Morocco’s player pool represents another success in the FRMF’s ongoing strategy of recruiting talented dual-nationality players developed in some of Europe’s top academies.
In recent years, Morocco have strengthened their national setup by convincing several players with European backgrounds to commit to the Atlas Lions, a policy that has contributed to the country’s rise on the international stage.
With his eligibility now confirmed, El Harmouz can be selected for Morocco in upcoming international windows as he aims to make his mark at senior level and continue his progression with Feyenoord.
