Egyptian side FC Masar will face Morocco’s FUS Rabat on Wednesday as both teams look to secure their first victory at the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt.
The Group A encounter will take place at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 local time (15:00 GMT).
Both teams began their campaigns with goalless draws on Sunday, leaving them with one point each as all four teams in the group shared the same opening result.
Masar were held by South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns, while tournament newcomers FUS Rabat played out a 0-0 draw against Cameroon’s Lekié Football Filles.
Wednesday’s meeting offers the two North African clubs an opportunity to move ahead in the group standings, although their previous encounter suggests the contest could be closely fought.
FUS Rabat defeated Masar 3-1 in Tunis on 7 September during the 2026 North African qualifying tournament. The Moroccan side won all three of their qualifying matches to secure the region’s place at the finals, while Masar qualified separately as representatives of the host nation.
Although this will be their first meeting at the final tournament, the clubs are already familiar with each other following that qualifying encounter.
Masar will be making their third consecutive appearance at the competition, having finished third in 2024 before placing fourth in 2025.
The Egyptian club began this year’s campaign with another 0-0 draw, extending a pattern that has featured prominently in their history at the tournament.
They have now opened successive editions with goalless stalemates, having drawn against Morocco’s AS FAR in 2025 before sharing the points with Sundowns this year.
Masar have been particularly difficult to beat in the group stage. They remain unbeaten in all seven of their matches at that stage across their three appearances, recording three wins and four draws.
Only Sundowns have enjoyed a longer unbeaten start to their group-stage history, with the South African club going nine matches without defeat.
Defensive organisation has also been a major strength for Masar. They have kept five clean sheets in their seven group-stage matches and conceded only twice.
Their record against Moroccan opposition at the finals, however, offers a different picture. Masar have faced AS FAR twice, losing 2-1 in the 2024 semi-finals before drawing 0-0 in the 2025 group stage.
The 2024 semi-final defeat came despite Maya Ehab scoring a stoppage-time penalty to equalise after Safa Banouk had given AS FAR an early lead. Doha El Madani subsequently scored the winner for the Moroccan side.
Masar will therefore be looking to improve their record against Moroccan clubs when they meet FUS Rabat.
