Young DR Congo midfielder Justin Moseyi has taken a major step in his football career after completing a move to Stade de Reims’ development programme, Reims Révélations.
The 18-year-old, who has represented DR Congo at U17 level, joins the French club’s reserve setup from Jeunesse Sportive de Tshangu (JST) in Kinshasa as he begins his first experience of European football.
Stade de Reims officially confirmed the arrival of the promising midfielder, who will now train and develop at the club’s Raymond-Kopa Training Center.
The move provides Moseyi with an opportunity to continue his progression in a professional European environment, with the French club offering support and facilities designed to help young players adapt to a new football culture.
Moseyi arrives in France after developing his skills with JST, one of the clubs helping nurture young talent in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to JST president, the midfielder had already signed his contract before leaving Kinshasa, a decision taken by the club to avoid putting the player under additional pressure during a trial period.
The transfer represents an important milestone for Moseyi, who is leaving Africa for the first time to pursue his ambitions in European football.
At Stade de Reims, the Congolese youngster will be part of the Reims Révélations project, which focuses on identifying and developing emerging talents before they potentially progress to higher levels of competition.
The French club described Moseyi as a tall, 18-year-old midfielder with potential, and believes he can benefit from the structure and training environment available at the Raymond-Kopa facility.
For DR Congo football, Moseyi’s move is another example of young talents from the country attracting attention beyond Africa.
The Leopards have produced several players who have gone on to compete in major European leagues, and the development of teenagers like Moseyi is seen as an important part of building the next generation of national team players.
The midfielder will now face the challenge of adapting to a different football system, language and lifestyle as he begins life in France.
However, joining a recognised development programme gives him the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches and compete in a more demanding environment.
His arrival also continues Stade de Reims’ focus on developing young players from different regions, with the club aiming to provide a pathway for talented footballers to progress.
Moseyi’s immediate objective will be to settle into the squad, improve his game and earn opportunities within the club’s structure.
While his European adventure is only beginning, the move represents a significant achievement for a player who started his journey in Kinshasa and is now preparing for a new chapter thousands of kilometres away.
