Borussia Dortmund have made their position on Felix Nmecha unmistakably clear, insisting the midfielder remains a central part of the club’s long-term plans despite growing interest from abroad.
The Bundesliga giants have reportedly ruled out the possibility of selling the 25-year-old this summer, with sporting director Ole Book publicly reaffirming the club’s commitment to the German international.
Speaking in an interview with Bild, Book dismissed speculation surrounding Nmecha’s future and strongly indicated that the midfielder will remain at Signal Iduna Park next season.
When asked whether Nmecha was “not for sale,” Book replied: “I would sign that.”
He added: “Felix will also play for us next season, that’s the clear plan.”
The Dortmund official also praised the midfielder’s performances and growing importance within the team, describing him as one of the standout players in his position in Germany.
“Felix is one of the best midfielders in Germany,” Book said, adding that the player does not have to “hide in Europe either.”
Nmecha has developed into a key figure under head coach Niko Kovač, becoming one of the most reliable components of Dortmund’s midfield structure.
His blend of physical presence, technical ability and tactical discipline has made him increasingly influential within the squad, particularly during the past campaign.
The midfielder featured in 42 competitive matches last season, contributing five goals and three assists while helping Dortmund remain competitive across multiple competitions.
His consistent performances also convinced the club to secure his long-term future earlier this year.
In March, Borussia Dortmund rewarded Nmecha with a contract extension running until 2030, underlining their confidence in him as a cornerstone of the club’s sporting project.
Despite reports linking the midfielder with interest from clubs across Europe, Dortmund appear determined to resist any approach and continue building around the Germany international.
