Achraf Hakimi attracted attention on social media after Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 victory over Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1 on Monday evening.
The Morocco international, who captained Paris Saint-Germain in the absence of Marquinhos, debuted a new look featuring braids during the match.
Ligue 1’s official account responded to Hakimi’s hairstyle with a light-hearted message on social media: “A new haircut, but the same great elegance.”
Hakimi quickly replied in a similar tone, writing: “Tight braids, just like my bond with Paris,” accompanied by a laughing emoji.
The change in appearance was widely noticed online, with the 27-year-old’s hairstyle becoming a talking point after an important league victory for Paris Saint-Germain.
Hakimi’s performance against Olympique Lyonnais was not entirely flawless, however, as he made some uncharacteristic technical errors during the game.
The defender finished 13th in the global ranking after missing the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London. That position may appear harsh in light of his season, despite the mistakes he made against Lyon.
The Ligue 1 schedule also lists Le Havre for 30 October 2026, while Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique Lyonnais and Angers are shown in connection with 1 November 2026.
