Aurelien Tchouameni determined to stay at Real Madrid despite transfer speculation

Aurelien Tchouameni has no intention of leaving Real Madrid this summer despite growing speculation linking the France international with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

The midfielder has emerged as one of the players reportedly considered expendable as Real Madrid explore ways to finance potential signings under new head coach Jose Mourinho. However, according to journalist Pablo Gallego, Tchouameni remains fully committed to continuing his career with the Spanish giants.

Mourinho’s arrival has intensified speculation surrounding Madrid’s midfield plans, with Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez reportedly among the Portuguese coach’s priority transfer targets. Any move for the Argentine, however, would likely require significant funds, prompting reports that the club could sanction the sale of one of its current midfielders.

Although Tchouameni has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, the former Monaco midfielder is not actively seeking an exit.

Instead, the 25-year-old is said to be focused on remaining at Real Madrid, provided he continues to play a prominent role under Mourinho.

While the French international is no longer considered completely untouchable within the squad, he still views his future as being at the Bernabeu and is prepared to fight for his place in the starting XI.

For the moment, however, club matters have taken a back seat.

Tchouameni’s full attention remains on France’s World Cup campaign, where he has established himself as a key figure in Didier Deschamps‘ midfield. His performances have helped Les Bleus emerge as one of the favourites to lift the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy.

With France now entering the knockout stages, discussions over Tchouameni’s club future are expected to be postponed until after the tournament.

Real Madrid’s final decision is likely to depend on Mourinho’s assessment of the midfielder’s role in his long-term plans, making the Portuguese manager’s verdict crucial in determining whether Tchouameni remains part of the club’s project for next season.
