Alphonso Davies says he and his team-mates will support Musiala through a difficult period after two setbacks left the Bayern player facing a challenging time.
Speaking to the German Press Agency (DPA) on Thursday, Davies said the incidents had affected him deeply and that the medical team was doing everything possible to help Musiala.
“These two incidents have broken my heart. The doctors are doing everything they can to help him through this. As a team, the best thing we can do is to give him positive energy, keep his spirits up, and fight on strongly.”
Davies emphasised that the support offered to Musiala would extend beyond his role as a footballer. He said the squad would stand by him personally, offering the kind of encouragement expected from close friends and family.
“We will support Musiala, not just as a player, but personally. We must support him like a friend, like a brother, but I know Musiala, and I know he will come back stronger.”
The Canada international’s comments underlined the importance of maintaining Musiala’s morale while he works through the consequences of the two setbacks. Davies said the team’s responsibility was to provide positive energy, help keep his spirits high and continue to fight alongside him.
Rather than focusing only on Musiala’s status as a player, Davies described the support as a personal commitment. His words presented the relationship between the two men, and between Musiala and his team-mates, as one built on friendship as well as football.
Davies also expressed confidence in Musiala’s character. Although he acknowledged the seriousness of the current situation, he said he knew Musiala well enough to believe the player would emerge from it stronger.
The remarks came as attention remained focused on Musiala’s recovery from the two incidents. Davies did not provide further details about the setbacks or set out a timetable for Musiala’s return. Instead, he concentrated on the collective role of the team and the need to give Musiala encouragement during the difficult period.
His message was clear: the squad intends to remain close to Musiala, support him away from the pitch as well as on it, and help him retain confidence while the doctors continue their work.
