Mali defender Alassane Coulibaly has joined Rahimo FC from El Merriekh FC, with the centre-back signing a deal with the Burkinabe club until 30 June 2028.
The 26-year-old, who stands at 1.85m and is predominantly right-footed, makes the switch after two seasons with El Merriekh FC. His move adds defensive depth to Rahimo’s back line, with the long-term contract underlining the club’s commitment to the player.
Coulibaly had arrived at El Merriekh FC in July 2024 after leaving Nouakchott King on a free transfer. Before his spell in Mauritania, he featured for Casa Sports following a move from ASC Police in July 2022, building up experience across several West and East African leagues.
The Bamako-born centre-back began his senior career at ASC Police in 2020, progressing through the regional game to earn successive moves to Casa Sports, Nouakchott King and then El Merriekh FC. His career path has seen him operate consistently in central defence, offering aerial presence and physicality at the heart of the back four.
Rahimo FC have now tied Coulibaly down for the next two seasons, with his contract in Burkina Faso running through to the summer of 2028.
