Al-Sadd sign Qatar and Sudan goalkeeper Abubaker Osman from Al-Khor

Qatar and Sudan goalkeeper Abubaker Osman has joined Al-Sadd from Al-Khor SC, moving to the Stars League club on 3 August 2026.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract with Al-Sadd running until 30 June 2031. The move takes Osman from Qatar’s second division to one of the country’s top-flight sides, with Al-Sadd competing in the Stars League.

Osman returns to Qatar after spending the previous season with Al-Khor. He was with Spanish club Calahorra during the 2025-26 campaign before returning to Al-Khor at the end of his loan spell on 30 June 2026.

His time in Spain began in August 2024, when he moved from Al-Khor SC to CD Calahorra B on loan. He subsequently joined Calahorra in July 2025, before returning to Al-Khor the following year.

Osman originally progressed from the Al-Khor Academy to the club’s senior side in July 2024. His latest move therefore represents a return to Qatar’s top division after a period that included football in Spain and a season back with Al-Khor.

Born on 25 September 2005, Osman stands 1.87 metres tall and plays as a goalkeeper. He has Qatar and Sudanese nationality and is listed with Al-Sadd’s national club programme.

Al-Sadd have now added Osman to their squad on a contract that keeps him at the club through June 2031.
