Zakaria Eddahchouri: Deportivo La Coruna forward attracting Sporting Gijon interest

Netherlands-Morocco centre-forward Zakaria Eddahchouri of Deportivo La Coruna is being linked with a move to Sporting Gijon as the Asturian club look to reinforce their LaLiga2 attack.

The 26-year-old, who joined Deportivo from Dutch side Telstar in January 2025, has a contract at Riazor until 30 June 2028 but has emerged as a potential target for Gijon late in the summer window. Eddahchouri is currently valued at around €2.5 million, a figure that would represent a significant outlay for a second-tier Spanish side and is likely to shape any negotiations.

Eddahchouri has become a notable presence in Spain’s second tier, registering 52 LaLiga2 appearances and 16 goals for Deportivo. That output has helped establish him as a reliable option through the middle, with Sporting monitoring his situation as they assess striking options for the new campaign.

Before moving to Spain, the 1.87m right-footed forward built his reputation in Dutch football. He produced 31 goals in 77 games in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie and also impressed in the Tweede Divisie with 16 goals in 30 outings, form that earned him his switch from Koninklijke HFC to Telstar in 2023 and subsequently to Deportivo for a reported €300,000 fee in early 2025.

Born in Papendrecht and eligible for both the Netherlands and Morocco, Eddahchouri has yet to make a senior international breakthrough but has compiled a consistent scoring record in domestic competitions. For now, he remains under a long-term deal at Deportivo La Coruna, who are under no pressure to sell ahead of the 2026–27 season.
