Algerian centre-back Youcef Douar has joined USM Khenchela on a free transfer from ES Setif.
The 28-year-old, born in Oran and standing at 1.80m, moves within Ligue 1 after leaving Setif at the end of his spell there, with the deal completed on 20 July 2026. He becomes one of the more experienced defensive recruits in the Algerian top flight this summer, operating primarily as a right-footed central defender.
Douar arrives at USM Khenchela with extensive top-flight experience, having made 169 Ligue 1 appearances and featuring regularly in domestic and continental competitions. Across league, cup and CAF Confederation Cup outings, he has accumulated more than 14,000 competitive minutes, underlining the level of game time he has already clocked up in Algerian football.
Before his move to Khenchela, Douar spent two seasons with ES Setif, having joined them in 2024 from Paradou AC, also on a free transfer. His senior career was launched at Paradou, where he graduated from the club’s youth ranks into the first team in 2017 after stepping up from the U21 side.
Douar’s market value was last assessed at around €250,000 in June 2026, reflecting his status as a seasoned Ligue 1 defender. His arrival gives USM Khenchela another option in central defence as they prepare for the new campaign.
The transfer sees Douar committed to USM Khenchela following the completion of his free move from ES Setif on 20 July 2026.
