Youcef Douar: Algerian defender joins USM Khenchela on free transfer from ES Setif

Algerian centre-back Youcef Douar has joined USM Khenchela on a free transfer from ES Setif, strengthening the Ligue 1 side’s defensive options ahead of the new campaign.

The 28-year-old, born in Oran, moves after two seasons with Setif, where he arrived in 2024 from Paradou AC, also on a free. His switch to Khenchela is a permanent move, completed on 20 July 2026, with the defender leaving at a time when his market value is estimated at around €250,000.

Douar brings extensive top-flight experience to his new club. He has made 169 appearances in Algeria’s Ligue 1, operating primarily as a centre-back, and has also featured in domestic cup competitions and the CAF Confederation Cup. Across those outings he has chipped in with two league goals and an assist, while accumulating more than 13,000 minutes of top-tier football.

A right-footed defender standing at 1.80m, Douar first emerged at Paradou, progressing from the club’s under-21 ranks into the senior side in 2017. His consistent involvement at Paradou earned him a move to Setif, and now to Khenchela, where his experience in continental competition adds further weight to the deal.

Douar’s arrival gives USM Khenchela an established Ligue 1 performer at the heart of their back line, confirmed on a free transfer from ES Setif.
