Youcef Douar: Algeria defender joins USM Khenchela on free transfer from ES Setif

Algerian centre-back Youcef Douar has joined USM Khenchela on a free transfer from ES Setif.

The 28-year-old defender moves across Ligue 1 after his contract with Setif ended, strengthening Khenchela’s options at the heart of defence ahead of the new campaign. The deal is a permanent switch, completed with no transfer fee involved.

Oran-born Douar, who stands at 1.80m and is right-footed, has built up extensive experience in the Algerian top flight, making 169 Ligue 1 appearances and featuring in domestic cup and continental competition. He has also played in the CAF Confederation Cup, adding international club experience to his profile.

Douar originally came through the ranks at Paradou, stepping up from the club’s U21 side to the senior team in 2017. He later joined ES Setif in 2024, also on a free transfer, before now making the move to USM Khenchela.

With a current market value of around €250,000, he arrives at Khenchela as an established Ligue 1 defender expected to add depth and stability to their back line.

Douar officially joined USM Khenchela on 20 July 2026, completing his free transfer from ES Setif.
