Monaco are being linked with a move for Franco-Tunisian winger Yahia Jlidi, 17, currently at Angers SCO U17, as the Ligue 1 club monitor one of the more notable young attacking talents in the French youth system.
The teenager, who is eligible for both Tunisia and France, plays primarily as a left winger in the Angers set-up and has emerged on the radar of Monaco’s recruitment department as they continue to focus on developing youth options for their first team and academy structure. While no agreement is in place, interest from the principality is understood to centre on integrating Jlidi initially through their youth ranks.
Jlidi only joined Angers SCO U17 ahead of the 2024-25 season, moving from Creteil’s youth system on a free transfer on 1 July 2024. His quick progression at Angers has been enough to draw attention beyond his current club, with Monaco assessing whether to move now or continue to track his development over the coming seasons.
Any deal would represent a rapid rise for a player who has yet to make the step into senior football but is already building experience in a professional club environment at Angers. For now, Jlidi remains under the umbrella of Angers SCO U17, where he is contracted after last summer’s switch from Creteil and continues his development in their attack.
